Halcyon came into his magical powers at 16 and was relieved to be able to join the navy. He is assigned to a dragon ship. The ship is actually built on the back of a dragon. Nifty... I liked these books more than I want to admit and I'm very annoyed there aren't more. A few of the sailors do swear (about 10 times a book)... I told them to clean it up a little and I think they really listened to me.

The Barn, Avi. Nice fast read, but I don't recommended it if your father recently had a stroke.

Midnight Magic, Avi. Set in a castello during the 1400's. Reason vs. Magic. Who is really in control?
